Rock & Bowl
On February 28, 2025, SFPSC hosted Rock & Bowl, bringing 45 students together at Sunway Pyramid MegaLanes for a casual yet exciting night of bowling. The lanes were packed, but the atmosphere was the perfect mix of chill and high-energy. Everyone was just there to have a good time, whether they were bowling pros or just there for the laughs.
This wasn’t a serious tournament, just pure fun. Some players were going for crazy trick shots, attempting between-the-legs rolls, wild spins, and no-look throws. Some worked, some didn’t, but every attempt was met with cheers or laughter. The most unreal moment of the night? One guy hit four strikes in a row. The entire place erupted, people were screaming, hyping him up like he was an NBA player sinking a game-winning shot. Even those in other lanes stopped to watch, and for a moment, it felt like we were witnessing bowling greatness.
Of course, no event is complete without a little competition. Challenges like scoring 130 points, getting three strikes, or landing three spares gave participants a chance to win some cool prizes – metal badges, keychains, and canvas bags. The winners were all smiles, proudly showing off their prizes like championship trophies. Meanwhile, the rest of us were already thinking, Alright, next time, we’re coming for those prizes.
The classic bowling alley playlist set the tone for the night. Nothing we picked, just the usual energetic tracks that kept the mood lively. And let’s be real, screaming after a strike was mandatory. Whether it was a perfect shot or a lucky bounce, if the pins went down, the reactions went way up.
And of course, bowling makes you hungry. Luckily, being in Sunway Pyramid meant food was just a few steps away. Some of us wandered through the mall, grabbing snacks from food stalls, while others went straight to a mamak outside for some well-earned late-night eats. A few were still talking about their best shots of the night, convinced they had somehow unlocked hidden bowling talent.
At the end of the night, Rock & Bowl was exactly what it needed to be – fun, laid-back, and full of unforgettable moments. Whether you came for the game, the prizes, or just to vibe with friends, it was a night of bowling, laughter, and unexpected skills.
